Gardening and outdoor learning not only helps children develop practical skills, but it's a great, hands on way of developing their scientific knowledge and understanding of nature and the environment. We set up a new weekly gardening club in spring 2018 (supported by the City of London) using the school's roof terrace allotment to grow a
range of fruit and veg. Children have propagated seeds, planted up the beds, harvested our first crops as well as observing the wildlife that visits. We've also been working with the Children's Centre running informal sessions with a band of enthusiastic young gardeners.
The school took part in this year's Open Garden Square’s Weekend, welcoming over 160 visitors to the roof terrace garden.
