Mr Bello- out leader of learning in Science and Computing- led a group of children in our Internet Safety Assembly on Friday. The children demonstrated the risks of chatting to other children online. Do you really know who you are talking to? We're going to be signing our internet safety agreements next week in class and look out for helpful workshops coming up to assist you with keeping your children safe when they use technology.
We're very proud of the food we offer in school. We rotate our menus on a three week cycle. These are our latest autumn and winter menus for 2016-17.

Our choir recorded backing vocals on the first ever Young Voices single sung by professional singer Tabby Callaghan, "Lost for a day" which is being released for hopefully chart success!
Richard Foley- Chief Executive and Clerk of Sir John Cass’s Foundation visited school this week to see how a generous grant from Sir John Cass’s Foundation was being used.
The Foundation recently agreed to support our Making learning real project which involves updating all teaching spaces with the latest interactive technology.
The grant—a total of £81,558 - spread over two years will enable the school to make improvements to every teaching and learning space– fitting them out with the latest smart board interactive touch screens and document cameras called visualisers. These cameras are able to capture and display real-time images which can then be shared with the whole class. They are proven to be highly effective when sharing work, responding to feedback or demonstrating and explaining concepts to classes.
This project also helps the school to improve the resource storage in classrooms as the touchscreens are mounted on high quality bespoke cupboards, totally transforming the teaching space in each year group.
Sir John Cass’s Foundation is the trustee of our school and over the years has funded various projects including our minibus and installation of the CCTV cameras.
We are particularly grateful for this generous financial support especially at a time when school budgets are being squeezed. We look forward to working with Sir John Cass’s Foundation in the years to come to enable our school to offer the best possible facilities, resources and education for every young Cassian.
Our new school council met for the first time on Thursday 22nd September, 2016 in the Board Room. School councillors discussed the quality of food, the new interactive whiteboards, problems with the toilets and made suggestions for the playgrounds. Thanks to Class 3 who have come up with the excellent idea of having a Class Teddy who will have adventures at different children’s houses each week. We’ll let you know more about this soon!

As the building work on the new building on Mitre Square comes to a conclusion, the focus is shifting to the development of the public square.
We’re excited about these improvements but there will be very significant changes to parking arrangements over the coming months. Old style permits for cars will soon be no longer valid and will be replaced with a new permit arrangement. You will need a valid permit to park on Mitre Street if you need your car to pick up or drop off children.
It’s expected that there will be a limited number of spaces to park on Mitre Street which you will need a permit to use. Permits will issued on the basis of need and we will invite applications from parents and carers later in the autumn term. We strongly encourage parents to travel to school by public transport or on foot.
Please look our for further announcements. You're also welcome to pop in to chat to a member of the leadership team about matter.
We like to keep you updated with the latest news and special events at Sir John Cass's Foundation Primary School.
