What do our children get up to in Nursery and Reception?

Launchpad for Language

It is estimated that around 50% of 4 to 5 year old children entering schools across the country have language and communication difficulties. Here at SJC we believe that good language and communication skills are fundamental to enabling children to reach their full potential and therefore aim to support every child from the point that they join us.
In our Nursery and Reception classes we run a programme called Launchpad for Language. This programme is designed to support the development of language and communication skills in the early years. It is run by our own staff alongside a qualified speech and language therapist. Children may take part in whole class activities, small group sessions or even individual sessions, depending on the activity and the child's needs.
