Gardening and outdoor learning not only helps children develop practical skills, but it's a great, hands on way of building up scientific knowledge and an understanding of nature and the environment.
We set up a new weekly gardening club in spring 2018 (supported by the City of London) using the school's roof terrace allotment to grow fruit and veg. Children have propagated seeds, planted up the beds, harvested our first crops and enjoyed observing the wildlife that visits our garden. We've also run informal gardening activities with a band of enthusiastic young gardeners in our Children's Centre.
The school took part in this year's Open Garden Square’s Weekend, welcoming over 160 visitors to the roof terrace garden.
