Over the last 2 years, the school has worked closely with the City of London to 'green' its site. This has been part of a larger strategy to address the issue of air quality https://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/business/environmental-health/environmental-protection/air-quality/Pages/air-quality-strategy.aspx. Plants proven to capture certain pollutants, have been installed along the perimeter of the school including, most recently, ivy screens along the school's boundary with Aldgate High Street. The City has run activities across the school to raise awareness including an air quality focused Gardening Club session as part of Air Quality Week .
In addition to these actions within the school, two new pocket parks, Mitre Square and Aldgate Square, have been created either side of the school. These are not only beautiful public spaces for children and parents to enjoy but also have removed traffic from two sides of the school.
