Parking is changing

As the building work on the new building on Mitre Square comes to a conclusion, the focus is shifting to the development of the public square.

We’re excited about these improvements but there will be very significant changes to parking arrangements over the coming months. Old style permits for cars will soon be no longer valid and will be replaced with a new permit arrangement. You will need a valid permit to park on Mitre Street if you need your car to pick up or drop off children.

It’s expected that there will be a limited number of spaces to park on Mitre Street which you will need a permit to use. Permits will issued on the basis of need and we will invite applications from parents and carers later in the autumn term. We strongly encourage parents to travel to school by public transport or on foot.

Please look our for further announcements. You're also welcome to pop in to chat to a member of the leadership team about matter.

Staying Safe Online

24/9/2015

We're busy thinking about how to stay safe on-line this year in school. We always suggest you:
  • Only allow children to use the Internet in a family room. The Internet should never be used by primary school-aged children without supervision.
  • Do not allow children to have a Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or other social media account until they are at least 13 years or older.
  • Have parental controls and restrictions set up on any devise a child uses.
  • Talk to your child regularly about what they are doing online and about staying safe and responsible when they use a computer.

There are lots of useful website you can visit to find out more about internet safety. The Metropolitan Police suggest the following golden rules:
  • Don't give out personal information such as your address or phone number.
  • Don’t send pictures of yourself to anyone, especially indecent pictures.
  • Don't open emails or attachments from people you don't know.
  • Don't become online ‘friends’ with people you don't know.
  • Never arrange to meet someone in person who you've met online.
  • If anything you see or read online worries you, tell someone about it.

Think You Know is an excellent website for children to use about internet safety. There are lots of games to play, videos to watch and detailed information about the risks as well as the benefits of the internet. https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/

The BBC has some excellent pages for children and parents about internet safety.

If you know of other excellent websites you've used, let us know and we'll post a link on this page.
