We'd love your views on the new school menus which will start after the Christmas holidays. Thank you to all of the parents and carers who recently joined us for one of our tasking sessions. We had great feedback about the quality of the food served.
We'd love to hear what you think of the new menus- just comment below.
We're very proud of the food we offer in school. We rotate our menus on a three week cycle. These are our latest autumn and winter menus for 2016-17.
We have turned our parking area into playground garden. From this term, only emergency and delivery vehicles will be allowed into our playground. A team of volunteers from Skanska and Friends of City Gardens moved in recycled planters, donated by Broadgate Estates and created a new green space. Another team of volunteers from Skanska repainted the roof top planters to make the veg garden ready for Open Garden Squares Weekend and City in Bloom.
Open Garden Squares Weekend is on 18/19th June www.opensquares.org. The school roof garden will be open on Saturday 18th from 10.30 am to 4 pm. The PTA are organising a pop up café, which will serve refreshments and scones and cream to visitors. This week children are sowing pots of herbs and beans so they can sell fresh produce to raise funds for the school. Parents and children are invited to come and visit the garden on the 18th and support the PTA.
A warm welcome to our new cookery teacher.
I'll be teaching an introductory cookery course to years 5 and 6 from October. I am a qualified chef with a diploma in food and wine from the Leiths school in West London, previously I studied Biology at Durham University. As well as teaching experience I've worked in restaurants, mass catering and write a blog about my family's Sri Lankan food. I'm looking forward to having the children learn a repertoire of recipes for them to recreate at home!
