Starting secondary school

Moving onto secondary school is an exciting time for your child; it represents an important milestone in their academic journey. We offer advice and guidance about the transfer process and the Headteacher is happy to meet with parents and carer's individually to discuss this matter. If you wish to make an appointment, please contact the school office.

Parents who have children with EHC plans are not required to complete the Common Application Form. The transfer from primary to secondary will be managed by the Local Authority's Special Educational Needs Team.

31st October is the deadline for applications to secondary school

Finding out more about schools

We advise parents and carers to look carefully at the different options for secondary education when your child is in Year 4. There are lots of sources of information about schools including Ofsted reports, performance data and Ofsted data comparing the achievement and statistics of an institution. Looking at the school's own website also gives you a useful overview of the institution before you arrange to visit on an open day.

Tower Hamlets
Many of our parents live in Tower Hamlets. This LA have produced a useful video about Tower Hamlets schools and the application process.

Tower Hamlets also uses fair banding to sort children into different groups as part of the admissions process. They have published a very useful guide about this arrangement.
